Acorns and the Princess!

Today was totally cool! What was supposed to be a business related trip ended up being a trip to Gillette's Castle! Miss Mckenzee was so excited that we were going to a castle she kept singing about it! "I'm going to be a princess...cuz I go to a castle" It was so cute! When we first arrived there we had lunch at a little picnic table near what my mother called a "princess lily pond", the we walked on a bridge that looked over the beautiful pond full of lily pads, beautiful flowers, and all kinds of pond life! There were frogs, tadpoles, little fish, big fish, and little dragonflies all over the place! After that we walked up to the castle and Mckenzee was in awe! "Mama is that my castle?" "Mama I go in castle?" "Mama I stay in castle. We take pictures in the castle?" I love that little girl!

What was even cuter was her collecting acorns as we walked through the pathways up to the castle. She would stop every ten seconds or so and say "OOOOH look Mama, another one!" she was so excited every time she found one!

Then when we were walking through the castle she was all "oooohing and ahhhhing" at everything! She loved Gillette's personal bedroom because it was "her size" as she said and it had a violin on the bed and she thought that was "AWESOME MAMA!" After we visited all the rooms we made our way outside where we saw some beautiful garden flowers and some more of the "Princess pond dragonflies" The view from that patio area at the castle is breathtaking.

The best part of the day was when Mckenzee found her "prince frog" as she called it! She thinks all princesses need a frog prince! Isn't that too cute!

Okay well I am one tired Mama and I need to get some rest before the princess wakes from her beauty sleep! Goodnight my faithful readers!

Well I did it I dyed it! Honestly I love it too! I did mess it up a little but I was able to make it work. The kids like it so I guess that is a plus. Oh and my husband and my ma thought it was cool as well so I am glad I went ahead and did it!

The night was very nice. Even though Andy spent most of the day out at a birthday party with his Aunt Shannon (father's sister), he came home just in time for dinner and even though he was full up from all the fun stuff he ate at the party he sat with us and talked to us and it was very nice. He even brought a cupcake home for his little sister to have that had a small Cinderella figure for her to play with! Then we all got in our comfy clothes and watched "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" before they gave their kisses and hugs and headed to bed.

Now I am just going to finish up this entry, play a little Bejeweled Twist (one of my obsessions) and then head to bed myself since I have to get up early to make the pound cake layered berry dessert and so DJ can make his coleslaw. Maybe if I can get the kids to sit long enough they can make my mom the cards for her birthday to keep them busy, we need to be leaving the house at 8:30 to get where we are going on time. Imagination

I had a very happy boy this morning! He was very excited to see that the "Tooth Fairy" had left hima whole dollar for his first baby tooth! He told me I had to tell the "tooth Fairy" that he said thank you so I took a video and told him I would send it to the "tooth fairy" headquarters. He then told me to take a picture of his toothless grin and his dollar and send them to the "tooth fairy" so she could see how happy he is! So I told him I would and maybe he will get a letter back thanking him for sending her such happy stuff!

So needless to say I am going to type up a letter from the "Tooth Fairy" and have it sent in the mail to him. I am hoping to keep this imagination he has going strong. He is so smart, so loved, and so creative that I have to make sure I give him the outlets he needs to show the creativeness and intellect he has. I love him and his sister so much it hurts sometimes.

It does make me a little sad though now that he has lost a baby tooth I am starting to feel like I am also losing my baby boy. Now I know he is not a baby anymore and that I should cut the cord and let him explore the world without me constantly holding his hand but it is hard. I do know this though, I know that no matter what I am going to be there to pick him up, I am going to be there whenever he needs me and I promise that I am not going to judge anything he does or make him feel unloved in any way. That is my MAMA LOVE PLEDGE!

Not Quite As Planned

Well we survived, now mind you we did not go to Rocky Hill today, we are going to do that a different day, but we DID go to Danielson to find the place where the "Zachy" exchange will take place. My mom will pick him up out there on Sunday before coming to see us!

Oh and more good news! Andrew lost his first wiggly tooth today at 1:40pm with a little help from Memere. He was great about it too until he saw the blood and then he was not so happy about it anymore. HE ALMOST PASSED OUT! I felt so bad! He is ok about it now though! He knows that he has to leave the tooth on the top of his bookshelf so the "Tooth Fairy" can find it and give him some money. He is most excited about that part!

Well I will post some more fun stuff tomorrow and Sunday when all the exciting events with lots of picture ops will occur!

Long Day

Well today should be a pretty long day but I like to think that I am well prepared for it. I even put fresh batteries in the camera as I usually do when we are going somewhere because you never know when a photo op moment is going to arise, especially when you have kids. I have taken hundreds upon hundreds of pictures just this year and I am going to continue to do so because I love seeing how the kids change as time goes by ever so quickly. Since today is a "New Adventure" day, a camera is just the thing we need to document the new things we will see. I will show you some of the pictures we take today later!

Tomorrow is a test

Well tomorrow we have a bit of time to spend in the car...trip to Rocky Hill to find a shop and then a little time to go to Danielson to find a farmer's market. It will be a test both for me and for the kids. I have packed a mini-tote full of fun stuff for them to play and do in the backseat.

Books, toys, hats, etc. I have snacks, changes of clothes, music cds, etc. I think I am all set, the only worry I have is Miss Mckenzee's motion sickness she sometimes gets in the car when we do long trips. I think if we take the time to get out of the car at some point and let her walk around a little she will be ok but either way I am grabbing her a bucket and paper towels too. I also packed her about 4 different outfits in fear lol.

It will also be a test for my mother since she doesn't usually have to cope with two small children and one of her own children (ME!) in the car for extended periods of time. I do know that I am going to hope to high heaven that the kids can behave and not make me have to get upset with them because I do not want to cause her any grief.

I am so glad that she loves my kids so much because she cherishes each moment with them like I do. She is constantly supportive of new trials I go through with them as they get older. I love to share new news with her about things the kids do, make, or say. Today I told her that Andy got his FIRST WIGGLY TOOTH! He is so happy which I think is kinda silly but I can understand how it can be exciting thinking about a "Tooth Fairy" and the money she may bring. Plus he knows that that means he is getting older and that his ADULT teeth are going to be coming in soon!

Today is a good news and many more learning days to go!

I have to first tell you a little bit about me and what I plan to tell you about here. First my name is Sue and I have been married three years, have two beautiful children, and I love to write, learn, and love! My son's name is Andrew (Andy) and he is going to be six this August 18th! He is going into first grade and hopefully this year all will go better now that we have rectified his vision issues. My daughter's name is Mckenzee (Kenzee) and she will be three this September 19th! She is going to be spending some learning time with me since we are a little behind in the potty training with her right now. She is awesome, she loves to learn and spend time writing and counting. When I spend time writing on here I am going to tell you about our learning adventures, our trials in emotions, and anything else that makes the days unique in their own way. I will walk you down the trails we take as we discover ourselves and others. I hope you enjoy!
