Andy's 6th Birthday Shindig!

Today we had Andy's big birthday shindig!  I think he had a total blast too.  He loved all the presents everyone gave him, he pigged out on all kinds of delicious food, and played his tushy off!  Now he is all tuckered out and in bed after a nice shower and some kisses!

His little sister had an on and off day, one second she was a great one to play with, then the next you wanted to hold your head and say "where is the whine off switch?".  She had a good day though in general and the rooms that they have are not quite as bad as I had expected them to be!  Of course the missing nightlite is a little bothersome but I will let that go for now I am sure I will find it either tomorrow or Thursday when I go to look for it!

All in all I think it was a pretty good day.  Andy got a lot of supplies to help both his schoolwork and his creativity, as well as just for fun and practical! I think Mckenzee loved his balloons a little more than he did though because all she wanted to do was play with them like all day/night, I bet if I had told her she could have slept with them she would have!  Most of his things made it to his room tonight the others will find there way up tomorrow.  I am really glad that he liked the new carpets and sheet set he said they feel "real real nice Mama".  That made me laugh!

During one of the breaks in rain, the kids were able to go outside and play some limbo with their Uncle Pa and Gramma!  They all did pretty good!  Then they all got nice and dirty playing in the mud before yet again the sky opened up and poured out that rain!  After some outside play it was time to get the food going and even though the rain made it a little harder to do the "cooking out" part, we made due with baking some potatoes in the oven, cooking up some yummy yellow and green squash on the stove, and grilling up all the BBQ chicken and hot dogs outside *since the grill had a cover*.

The kids all filled their tummies then made their way upstairs to clean up the mess they had made earlier and get out the blankets and pillows for movie time!  Then all but the youngest two watched Planet 51 while we cleaned up the downstairs and got it ready for present opening and cake!

Andy picked his own cake out this year and this year he had to have Transformers!  He just love the darn things, the whole "converts from car to robot" thing is just too cool to him!  Unfortunately he is not the best at the conversion which means poor DJ has to help him more often with them than he would like!  We only ate about have the cake and as it was I was so busy helping out that I forgot to go to the bathroom and by the time I remembered and went I came back and they had put the rest of the cake away!

So needless to say I am thinking yummy cake for breakfast! *what it had eggs, flour, milk, and I am sure some kind of something that might be good for me?* Right?!

After all the cake goodness and the clean-up it was time for a couple games of Quelf (the best game ever)!  We had a blast and I cannot wait until the next time we get to play!  It can be a little confusing at first but boy is it addicting!

Well my wonderful husband has called it a night since he has to work tomorrow and since I am soooooo darn tired after all that I have been through this week I should too!

Goodnight my faithfuls!  More tomorrow!
